Lillian Elizabeth (Claeys) Swedzinski was born on December 30, 1922, in Lyon County to Alfons and Anna (Van Schriek) Claeys. She attended public school in Taunton. On June 3, 1947, Lillian was united in marriage to Clarence Swedzinski. The couple farmed and raised their family near Taunton. Lillian earned her GED in 1982. She took bookkeeping classes at the Canby Vocational School and worked for a time for Prellwitz Trucking. Lillian enjoyed farm life and all the related activities. She was an active member of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. She served as Secretary on the Parish Council, was a member of the CCW, and was committee chairperson for the Centennial History Book. She enjoyed playing games and cards with family and friends, painting, hardanger, sewing and quilting.
Lillian died on Friday, May 25, 2012, at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center in Marshall. She is survived by her husband Clarence Swedzinski of Minneota, children Dennis (and Sandy) Swedzinski of Minneota, Doris (and Darrell) Wicks of Danube and Dale (and Karen) Swedzinski of Taunton, brother John (and Arlene) Claeys of Minneota, Sister-in-law Dorothy Swedzinski, grandchildren Dennis (and Beth) Swedzinski, Doug (and Jodie) Swedzinski, Kelli (and Jeff) Katherman, Lori Wicks (and friend Conrad Crockett) and Cal Swedzinski; great-grandchildren Carter and Will Katherman and Brinn Wicks. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Theodore and infant brother Louis.
