Lisa K. Weinzetl age 52 of Tracy, MN, formerly of Currie, MN died Sunday, March 1, 2015 at her home in Tracy. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, March 13, 2015 at the Almlie-Horvath Funeral Home in Tracy. Visitation will be from noon until 2:00 PM also on Friday, March 13 at the funeral home. Interment will be at a later date in May. The Almlie-Horvath Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Lisa Kay Weinzetl was born June 4, 1962 to John and Kathryn (Veroeven) Weinzetl in Slayton, MN and grew up in Currie, MN. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Currie and attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School. Lisa then attended Tracy Public Schools, graduating from Tracy High School in 1980.
She attained her LPN license at Riverbend Technical in New Ulm, MN and worked for several years in health care, before becoming self-employed doing telephone sales work. Lisa lived in several areas of Minnesota and then moved back to Currie in the early 1990âs. After her fathers death she moved into her mothers home and cared for her until she entered a nursing facility in 2001. Lisa remained living in the family home for several years and then moved to Tracy.
She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Lisa loved to read, attending horse shows, listening to music, going to concerts, staying in touch with family and friends, and playing cards and games. She will forever be remembered by her card playing friends as â13â, as an endearing nickname and for her wonderful quick wit.. As a family historian, she spent countless hours keeping track of the family history and loved getting together with all her relatives at the reunions.
Lisa battled Leukemia for many years and other related health issues, but she had a strong, keep moving forward approach to life. She moved into Twin Circle Apartments when she moved to Tracy and died Sunday, March 1, 2015 at her home.
Lisa is loving remembered by all who knew her and survived by her two sisters, Sharon (Douglas) Bullerman of Adrian, MN and Debra (Craig) Anderson of Aberdeen, SD; two brothers, Michael (Rhonda Binder) Weinzetl of Hutchinson, MN and John Weinzetl of Currie, MN; three nieces, Stephanie, Stacy and Melissa; one nephew, Nicholas; special friends, Rick Bjorklund and Steven and Eddi Almlie, plus many other friends.
Her parents, John and Kathryn, infant brother, Kevin, uncles and aunts preceded her in death.
