Lorraine Gruhot

Mass of Christian Burial for Lorraine Gruhot, 80, will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at Holy Redeemer Church in Marshall. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a CCW Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a Parish Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Rehkamp – Horvath Funeral Home in Marshall. Visitation will continue from 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall. Lorraine Elizabeth Gruhot was born in Lake Marshall Township to John and Elizabeth (Dandurand) St. Aubin on January 31, 1931. She attended Country School in District 5 and District 6, graduating through the eighth grade. On April 20, 1954, she married Leonard Gruhot at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. Lorraine loved gardening and flowers. She also enjoyed family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lorraine enjoyed going on bus tours, fishing and baking. She baked wedding cakes and graduation cakes for years and her husband, Leonard did the decorating. She also enjoyed playing cards and embroidering dish towels. For 10 years, she operated the Gedney Cucumber Buying Station in Lynd. She then worked at the Schwan Food Company for 12 years. Lorraine died on Friday, July 29, 2011, at the Minneota Manor in Minneota. She is survived by her sons Mike (and Sue) Gruhot of Marshall, Tom (and Connie) Gruhot of Marshall, Jeff (and Caral) Gruhot of Ghent, grandchildren Robert, Ashley, Monica, Sarah and Rachel, two step-grandchildren Tricia (and Brad) Johns and Tonia (and John) Bandy, one great-granddaughter and nine step great-grandchildren, siblings Grace (and Paul) Vercruysse of St. Leo, Maxine (and Albert) Kerkaert of Russell, Louis (and Maxine) St. Aubin of Marshall, Richard (and Margaret) St. Aubin of Russell, Bernard (and Joyce) St. Aubin of Santa Maria, CA, Lawrence (and Judy) St. Aubin of Marshall, Vincent (and Lilianna) St. Aubin of Marshall, Dennis St. Aubin of Marshall, Ronald (and Pam) St. Aubin of Santa Maria, CA, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leonard, sister-in-laws Alice St. Aubin and Shirley St. Aubin and one great-grandchild.
