Louis Bernard Otto was born on April 11, 1931 in St. Cloud, MN to Christian and Pauline (Jansen) Otto. Louis passed away September 6, 2010 at Avera Medical Center of Marshall.
Louis grew up in Sauk Rapids, MN, attended Sauk Rapids High School graduating in 1949. He spent two years at the University of Minnesota then came to Marshall to work with his brothers at Marshall Dairy. He was drafted in the Army in 1952, trained at Fort Sill, OK and then served with the 987th Field Battalion during the Korean conflict, honorably discharged in 1954 as a Corporal.
Upon his return from the Service he and LaVonne Schrunk were married August 17, 1954 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church of Marshall. To this union two sons were born; Gary and Steven. Louis continued to work at Marshall Dairy until they sold to Terrace Park Dairy of Sioux Falls. He continued to work with Terrace Park until 1967 when he was employed with Coca Cola Bottling of Marshall, retiring in 1996. Louis was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing. He was a member of the American Legion Post #113, VFW Post #742 and Knights of Columbus of Marshall.
Louis is survived by his wife LaVonne, son Steven (Teresa), three grandchildren and two great grandchildren, one sister Bernadette Sand of Alexandria. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son Gary; three brothers Jim, Raymond, and Norbert and Sister Paschal O.S.B.
