Louise Elizabeth Frank was born on January 16, 1916, on the family farm near Wabasso in Vale Township, to John and Margaret (Welch) Frank. She was the second born and oldest daughter of nine children. Louise was baptized and confirmed at St. Anneâs Catholic Church in Wabasso, where she also attended school. When she was 20, she met the love of her life, Harry Zwach, at a dance in Wabasso. They were married on June 6, 1938, and they enjoyed 71 years together. Harry and Louise raised their five children on a farm south of Milroy.
Louise was a member of the Milroy American Legion Auxiliary and St. Michaelâs CCW. She was an amazing caregiver and was always there for others in need. Louise was a 37 year breast cancer survivor. She loved traveling with her husband and spent 23 years wintering in Harlingen, Texas. Louise loved dancing, playing cards, gardening, and learning to golf at the age 60. Louise was exceptional in the kitchen. No one could match her sauerkraut and dumplings. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy, always bringing a smile to her face.
Louise lived the last year and a half at Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall. She died on September 21, 2011, at the age of 95. Louise passed away surrounded by her family. Blessed be her soul.
