Lyle Pesch

Lyle Duane Pesch was born on August 4, 1932 to Wayne and Maria (Rafnson) Pesch on a farm in Lyon County, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Minneota and later became a member of Sts. Cyriel and Methodius Catholic Church in Taunton. He attended country school in District 80. On January 12, 1953, he was married to Marjorie Kontz of Gary, SD at the Gary Catholic Church. Lyle served in the U.S. Army SP 3rd Class from 1954 – 1956. During this time he served one year in Fairford, England. Lyle farmed near Ashby, MN from 1956 – 1959. In 1959, Lyle and Margie moved to Taunton, MN where Lyle worked for Phil Tillemans Trucking. In 1965, Lyle worked at the Taunton Elevator as the Feed Mill Manager until his retirement in 1996. Lyle loved spending time with his family and enjoyed going fishing and spending time at their cabin in South Dakota. Lyle died Monday, January 27, 2014, at Sanford Canby Medical Center. He is survived by his children Pam (and Dan) Coquyt of Fairmont, MN, Deb (Leo) Bottelberghe of Minneota, MN, Jim (and Chris) Pesch of Taunton, MN, Ken (and special friend Brenda) Pesch of Porter, MN, Rick (and Linda) Pesch of Taunton, MN, and Laurie (and Gary) VanDerostyne of Porter, MN; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren (2 on the way); siblings Lois, Ruth, Mavis, Gene (and Jill); and many relatives and friends. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; wife Marjorie; and siblings Wallace, Donald, Lawrence, and infant sister Dorothy.
