Lynn Allen Rekkedahl was born on October 15, 1939, in Swede Prairie Township, to Orvin and Judith (Olson) Rekkedahl. As a young child, he grew up in Canby until moving to Minneota in 1952. He graduated from Minneota High School in 1959. Lynn worked as a butcher for the Normandy Hotel in Minneapolis for a few years. He later moved to Southern California where he worked for Micro Space in Gardena, CA. While living near Los Angeles, he met his future wife, Mary Ann Merisola. The couple married at Ports OâCall Chapel in San Pedro, CA, on June 24, 1989. In 1991, they moved to Minneota. Lynn worked for the Schwan Food Company, Heartland Turkey Plant and Weiner Memorial Hospital. He enjoyed listening to country music and drinking Budweiser. He and Mary Ann also enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Las Vegas and Galveston, TX. Lynn suffered with rheumatoid arthritis for many years.
Lynn passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014, at his residence in Minneota, under the care of Prairie Home Hospice.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Rekkedahl of Minneota, sister Sonja Syverson of Phoenix, AZ, sister P.J. (and Jim) Wester of Remer, MN, sister Paulette Pince of Rutledge, MN, brother Mark Johnson of Minneota, sister Heidi (and Patrick) Kelly of Bloomington, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, father Orvin, step-father Stanley Johnson, mother Judith Johnson, brother Roger, and nephew Craig
