Mae M. Cambern age 74 of Holland, MN died Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at her home. Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, November 20, 2009 at Peace United Methodist Church in Pipestone, MN. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 PM Thursday, November 19, 2009 also at Peace United Methodist Church, with a time of sharing to be held at 7:00 PM. Interment will be at the New Woodlawn Cemetery in Pipestone. The Chandler Funeral Association is handling the arrangements. Mae Mildred Cambern was born July 1, 1935 to Frederick H. and Emma A. (Wechler) Huebner in Holland, MN, Pipestone County. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and attended country school. On October 8, 1954 Mae married Lyman Cambern in Pipestone, where they made their home. In 1973 they moved to an acreage northwest of Pipestone. After her husband’s death in 1995, Mae remained living there until 1996, when she moved into Holland, MN. Mae worked for Fecker’s Egg Plant in Pipestone for a number of years, and at IGA Foods, as a meat cutter, before she managed the café at Pipestone Livestock. She also worked for Lange’s Locker and as a secretary for Barnes Truck Service. Mae then went to work for Bayliner in Pipestone, until an injury forced her retirement in 1979. She was a member of Peace United Methodist Church in Pipestone. She was also active in the Red Hatters Club, Earl Gruis Legion Post 534 Ladies Auxiliary in Holland, DDU Card Club, Jolly Birthday Club and a member of the Holland Senior Citizen’s. Mae was very active in her life and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren in her retirement. On August 6, 2009 Mae was diagnosed with brain cancer and after a brief stay in the hospital, returned to her home. On Tuesday, November 17, 2009 Mae died at her home in Holland, with her daughter holding her hand, at the age of 74. Mae is survived by her one son, Russelll (Connie) Cambern of Omaha, NE; one daughter, Lynette Shriver of Pipestone, MN; five grandchildren, Cassie, Seth, Russell, Letaila and Emma; seven great grandchildren, Courtney, Jazmin, Makayla, Katie, twins, Allison and Alexis, and Jacob; two brothers, Alvin (Lois) Huebner of Pipestone, MN; and Marvin “Buck” Huebner of Canby, MN; two sisters-in-law, Effie Huebner of Hartford, SD and Betty Huebner of Sioux Falls, SD; nieces, nephews and many friends. Her husband, Lyman, parents, seven brothers, Fritz, Theodore “Joe”, Tom, Wesley, Rudolph, Orville, and Donald Huebner and five sisters, Dorothy Thompson, Velma Foster, Bessie Popp, Clara Opsahl, and Viola Huebner preceded her in death.
