Marcia Rowell age 96 of Tracy, MN died Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the Sanford-Tracy Area Medical Center. Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the Tracy United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Friday, June 14, 2013 at the Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy. Interment will be in the Tracy City Cemetery. The Almlie Funeral Homes of Tracy is handling the arrangements.
Marcia Edna Rowell was born March 8, 1917 to Walter and Ruby (Erion) Clark in Sherwood, ND. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and attended Sherwood Public Schools. As a young woman she moved with her sister to southwestern Minnesota.
On March 12, 1938 Marcia married Mark Rowell in Brookings, SD and they made their home in Amiret, MN. In 1984 they moved into Tracy, MN and she remained in her home until 2005, when she moved to OâBrien Court. In December 2012 she became a resident of the Prairie View Healthcare Center in Tracy.
She was a housewife and mother who enjoyed quilting, embroidery, gardening, playing cards, bowling, Scrabble, Crosswords Puzzles, and keeping a daily journal, but what she really loved was spending time with her family. Marcia attended Tracy Methodist Church and in the past was active in the church womenâs groups. She was also a member of the Tracy Hospital Auxiliary and served many over the years in the hospital snack bar.
On Thursday, May 16, 2013 Marcia died, surrounded by her loving family, at Sanford-Tracy Area Medical Center at the age of 96.
Marcia is survived by her one daughter, Barbara Knudson of Tracy, MN; four granddaughters, Dawn (Tom) Bahn of Cottonwood, MN, Norma Knudson (Randy Logelin) of Waconia, MN, Laura (Lance) Kosen of Cottonwood, MN and Linda (Rick) Pesch of Taunton, MN; six great grandchildren, Chris and Jeremy Bahn, Shane and Nicholas Kosen, and Tess and Kiefer Servin; one sister, Verna Garber of Cando, ND; one brother, Robert (Laverne) Clark of Hoyt Lakes, MN; nieces, nephews and friends.
Her husband, Mark, parents, three sisters and their husbands, Clarice (Lawrence) Reed, Dorothy (Leonard) Hauptli, and Hazel (Percy) Newhouse, one brother and his wife, Walter (Signie) Clark, and one brother-in-law, William Garber preceded her in death.
