Margaret I. (Verschelde) Spinner was born on April 5, 1935, in Ghent, to Herman and Caroline (Van Uden) Verschelde. She grew up in Minneota, attended St. Edward Catholic grade school and graduated from Minneota High School. On June 28, 1955, she was united in marriage to Lewellyn âLewâ Spinner. The couple lived in Arco for a few years before moving to Marshall. Margaret worked in various positions over the years including B & H Electronics, Curves and the cafeteria for the Marshall School System. She was an active member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church where she belonged to the Catholic Daughters of America and volunteered with the funeral serving committee. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, playing bridge, bird watching and Saturday lunches with friends. Family was very important to Margaret. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Margaretâs appreciation for family was learned as she grew up with nine siblings. She had a full and active life; she had lots of energy and lots of friends.
Margaret died on Wednesday, January 04, 2012, at the Prairie Home Hospice House in Marshall. She is survived by her husband, Lewellyn, of Marshall, daughters Sandra (and Rory) Jones of Waconia, Arla (and Mark) Thomas of St. Louis Park, grandchildren Adam, Patrick, Andria, Brennan and Leah, siblings Eileen Differding of Minneota, Rita (and Bob Jr.) Mack of Ivanhoe, Kathleen Hoffman of Omaha, NE, Carolyn Roles of Minneota, Bernadette Verschelde of Osseo, JoAnn Scheerhorn of Sioux Falls, SD, James Verschelde of Redwood Falls, brother-in-law Jim Hanson of Clarkfield, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Owen , parents, sister Mary and brother David.
