Margaret Catherine Wirtz

Margaret Catherine Wirtz was born on May 21, 1923, in Rural Milroy to Henry and Catherine (Mangin) Wirtz. She was Baptized and received First Communion at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Milroy and Confirmed at St. Dionysius Catholic Church in Tyler. Margaret farmed with her brother most of her life. She also painted and hung wallpaper and worked at the Minneota Manor as a Nurses’ Aide for 20 years. She enjoyed helping others, gardening, flowers, crocheting and baking. Margaret died on Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center in Marshall. She is survived by her six nephews and four nieces: Donald (and Karla) Wirtz of Marshall, David (and Nancy) DeCock of Fargo, ND, Robert DeCock of Moorhead, Douglas (and Collette) DeCock of Mt. Angel, OR, Henry (and Judy) DeCock of Wadena, Wayne (and Kathy) DeCock of Alexandria, Elizabeth (and Ken) Zupon of North Branch, Patricia (and Richard) Rosa of Milroy, Rosemarie (and Kirby) Hoffman of Canyon, TX, Mary (and Don) Roggenkamp of Fergus Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Catherine, sisters Frances VanAcker, Marie DeCock and Christen Wirtz, brothers August and John.
