Mass of Christian Burial for Marian Blomme, 95, of Marshall, will be on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. A livestream of the service can be found at www.holy-redeemer.com. A walk-through visitation will take place on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Mask and social distancing requirements will be observed at all services.
Marian Martha (Antony) Blomme was born on December 6, 1925, in Canby, MN, to Nicholas and Gertrude (Braun) Antony. She grew up on the family farm in Wergeland Township, Yellow Medicine County. On October 16, 1951, she was united in marriage to Henry Blomme Jr in St Leo, MN. She lived on the Blomme family farm north of Marshall for almost 61 years until August 2012. Marian moved into Marshall, first living at Boulder Estates for seven years, then moving into the Prairie Home Hospice Lockwood House in October 2019, until her death on Sunday, February 28th, 2021, at the age of 95.
Marian was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, dancing, watching the MN Twins, and participating in the Boulder Estate activities. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Her family was very important to her.
Marian is survived by her children Betty (Dale) Freese of Scottsdale, AZ, Jean (Mike) Weum of Minnetonka, MN, Bill (Deb) Blomme and Pat (Christina) Blomme, both of Marshall; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Sister Clara Antony of St Cloud. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Henry; son Michael; brothers Mathias Antony, Wilfred Antony, and Lawrence Antony.
The family extends a special Thank You to Boulder Estates and Prairie Home Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Holy Redeemer Church or Prairie Home Hospice.
