Marie Lizette Woitaszewski (Price) born in Roscoe, South Dakota, to George and Esther Price on February 16th, 1934. Marie entered the hospital on Sunday, September 24th, 2023, and then Prairie View Senior Living in Tracy, and passed away on Thursday, September 28th, surrounded by family.
Marie attended school in Roscoe through the eighth grade and helped her parents take care of the farm. Marie moved to Tracy due to friends Matt and Cora Struken and she took care of their kids. Marie’s family remained in South Dakota during this time. Marie met Jerry through Sander and Mary Lou Ludeman in 1960 at a picnic and a year later they were married in Tracy at the First Presbyterian parsonage. After marriage they remained living around the Tracy area, and Marie worked babysitting. She also worked at the Christian Manor and worked at the church cleaning.
Marie loved the fall colors, going for car rides, and going fishing in her earlier years when all the kids were younger. Marie loved gardening and taking care of her flowers; it didn’t matter what kind of flowers, she loved all of them. She especially loved it when the kids and grandkids were there to help replant flowers in the spring and loved it when her kids would send her flowers or plants just because. Marie loved going to church and ladies group and she had some great friends (Bev and Jim Donner) that made sure she had a ride.
Marie is lovingly remembered by her eight children, Jim (Debbie) of Wallace, SD, Dave of Currie, MN, Julie (Steve) Holm of Tracy, MN, Terry of Willmar, MN, Dawn (Jason) Nath of Luverne, MN, Steven of Sheboygan, WI, Brenda (Keven) Hayne of Cape Coral, FL, and Sherry (Paul) of Brookings, SD. Marie had seven grandchildren, Phil, Aimee, Tyler, Tristian, Remmington, Kadie, and Jennifer, two great-grandchildren, Hayden and William, and six step-grandchildren, Darcy, Dean, Jamey, Cody, Trista, and Kayla.
Marie is preceded in death by her parents George and Esther, husband Jerry, in-laws Frank and Catherine, son-in-law Brad Moss, and several nieces and nephews.
