Our mom, Marilyn Jean (Anderson) Claeys, was called by name to Jesus, on June 6, 2023, at the age of 90.

Mom was born on March 30, 1933, with beautiful curly hair to Sanford and Edna (Denker) Anderson in Canby, MN.  She was the oldest of 3 children and the apple of her dad’s eye.

On March 26, 1951, mom married her best friend, dancing, golfing and bowling partner, Andrew H Claeys. They settled down together, while raising their family on the farm west of Minneota.

Mom was an active soul.  She was an excellent bowler with a powerful backswing.  She racked up an impressive 300 game and was the anchor for her team. If anyone needed a Bridge partner, she was your gal.  She enjoyed a laugh while setting the opponent.  Mom could cook with her eyes blindfolded. She made her world famous BBQ sauce, potato salad and she canned a family favorite of pickles. We never asked her for a recipe because she did not use standard measurements. “A pinch of this, some of that, a dump of this. Just go by feel,” she would say. She would never divulge the “secret ingredient.” Mom enjoyed every evening meal with her “date Matt Dillon.”  Watching her “cowboy shows” and reading books were her passion.  She read novels her entire life.  The trips we took to the Canby Library for books and to see the librarian, Lola, who was mom’s best friend since elementary school, are treasured memories.

Mom ferociously loved and was proud of her surviving children; Greg, Brad, Jeff, Jordan, Lisa, Lyn, 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  We could always count on mom to be in our corner.

Mom was welcomed into her eternal rest by her husband Andy, son Mark, grandson Cody and parents.

Dad has punched your dance card in heaven Mom. You are back together into each other’s arms and waltzing together throughout eternity.
