Marilyn Joan Ann Tegels was born December 18, 1937 to Alfred and Adelaide (Stattleman) Spartz in Marshall, MN. Marilyn was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and graduated from Central High in 1955.

On March 2, 1957, Marilyn was united in Holy Matrimony to her childhood sweetheart, Dwayne Tegels at Holy Redeemer Church in Marshall. This union was blessed with a daughter Staci, granddaughter Kelleigh, and great-grandson Maddox.

Marilyn was an incredibly talented, loving, and dedicated family woman. She designed and sewed many evening gowns, was a master chef, and a show-stopping baker. Marilyn was a fashionista – always finding a way to include her personal style in everything she did. In addition to being the cornerstone of her family, she also assisted DJ with his practice.

Marilyn cherished her family and friends – always looking for the opportunity to make each day special for those in her life. Whether she was cheering on her daughter in majorettes, her granddaughter in dance, or in her classes at the “Y” - she put her whole heart in to everything she did. Her daughter and her family were her entire world.

On July 9, 2023, Marilyn joined her loving Savior. She passed away at home and is survived by her daughter Staci (Les) Nelson of Willmar, granddaughter Kelleigh (Jordan) Lang of Scottsdale, step-grandsons Justin (Lindsey) Nelson of Delano and Brett (Leslie) Nelson of Dallas, step-great-granddaughters Evie, Mila, Bergen, Collins, and Hilde Nelson, and great-grandson Maddox Lang. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her brothers, David and Daniel.
