Mass of Christian Burial for Marilynn Pagel, 82, of Minneota, will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Minneota and attendees are encouraged to wear Minnesota Twins attire. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church. Interment will follow the service at St. Edward Catholic Cemetery in Minneota. A recording of the service will be available at www.horvathfuneralservice.com.

Marilynn Carolyn (Wagner) Pagel was born on February 15, 1942, in St. Paul, MN, to John and Gladys (Fishbeck) Wagner. She grew up in St. Paul and graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy High School. She attended St. Catherine’s College for two years. On September 12, 1964, she was united in marriage to Herbert “Herb” Pagel at St. John’s Catholic Church. In 1965, the couple moved to Minneota where Herb took a job as a teacher at Minneota High School. 

Marilynn enjoyed knitting, crocheting and playing cards, especially Bridge. She enjoyed frequenting Hobby Lobby, Dairy Queen, or the occasional trip to a casino. She was an avid Minnesota Twins and Minneota Vikings Volleyball fan. Marilynn enjoyed reading and was a member of the Minneota Library Board. She enjoyed camping and was always in charge of the campfire and even brought her personal campfire poker. Marilynn was most fond of time spent with family, especially her grandchildren.

Marilynn died on Friday, August 16, 2024, at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall. She is survived by her husband, Herb Pagel, of Minneota, children Jennifer “Jenny” (Steven) Engels of Prior Lake, Joan (Richard) Driemeyer of New Prague, Amy Pagel of Belle Plaine, Sara (Steve) Boysen of Clements, Katrin “Katie” VanHecke of Minneota, 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, siblings John “Jay” (Arlene) Wagner of Blaine, Jeff (Shelley) Wagner of Chisago City, Joseph “Skip” (Red) Wagner of Federal Dam, MN, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Michael.
