Marjorie Lucille Buss age 76 of Westbrook, MN died on August 8, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Center in Westbrook. Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, August 12, 2010 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Visitation will be from 4 â 8 PM on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at the Almlie Funeral Home in Westbrook with a prayer service at 7:00 PM and visitation continuing one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Rosehill Mennonite Cemetery, Rural Westbrook.
Marjorie Lucille Buss was born on December 5, 1933 to Simon and Ina (Nelson) Hanson on her grandparentâs farm in St. Croix County, WI. Marjorie was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Rush River Lutheran Church in River Falls, Wisconsin. She grew up on dairy farms and attended country schools. After graduating from Baldwin High School, she worked as a nanny in Edina, MN, and as a telephone operator for a short period of time. She also attended River Falls State University and L.B.I. Lutheran Bible Institute at that time. At the age of 13, Marjorie taught Sunday School at her home church and was also a member of the choir and Luther League. She continued to teach Sunday School for over 36 years.
On November 12, 1955 Marjorie married Glen Buss and they made their home on a farm in the Westbrook area where Marjorie became a homemaker and mother to six children.
Marjorie was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Westbrook, Minnesota. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and camping but most importantly loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, and friends.
On August 8, 2010 Marjorie died at the Good Samaritan Center in Westbrook at the age of 76.
Marjorie is survived by her three sons, Gene (Carmen) Buss of Arcadia, WI, Bobby Buss of Windom, MN, and Jon (Kristina) Buss of Aurelia, IA; three daughters, Jan (Steve) Nelson of Westbrook, MN, Shari (Doug) Rempp of Estes Park, CO, and Sara (Travis) Krueger of Westbrook, MN; four brothers, Richard, Daniel, David, and Ted; three sisters, Dawn, Susan, and Kalle; twenty grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Her parents, husband Glen, and sisters Jeannine and Sandra preceded her in death.
