Marshall John Gravley was born on October 3, 1937, in Burbank Township, to Albert and Hazel (Nelson) Gravley. Marshall lived in various communities including Fairbault. He lived in Faribault for a time before moving in with his parents in Russell. After his fatherâs death, he came to live in Marshall, for the last seven years at the 24 Habilitative Servicesâ Site on Viking Drive. Marshall enjoyed Sunday night bowling, listening to country music, playing the Wii and doing puzzles. He also enjoyed travelling, especially trips to Colorado, Nashville, the Black Hills and Branson, MO. He enjoyed visiting with people. Marshall had a happy, joyful, outgoing demeanor. He was a stranger to no one and a friend to all who knew him.
Marshall died unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his siblings Duane âDeweyâ Gravley of Russell, LeRoy (and Sharon) Gravley of Ruthton, Shirley Thompson of Tracy, Sharon (and Ronnie) Stenerson of Tyler, Beverly (and Norvin) Viergutz of Green Valley, good friend Jerry Stenerson, nieces, nephews, staff and friends from HSI. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Mavis, brother Dennis, brother-in-law Ronnie Thompson.
