Marvin Calvin Berg

Marvin C. Berg age 83 of Westbrook, MN died Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at the Valley View Manor in Lamberton, MN. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Friday, March 7, 2008 at the Almlie Funeral Home in Westbrook. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the Old Westbrook Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Old Westbrook Lutheran Church Cemetery. Marvin Calvin Berg was born May 2, 1925 to Lawrence and Hannah (Hoff) Berg on the family farm in Westbrook Township, Cottonwood County. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended Country School District 68 in Westbrook Township. On November 3, 1942 Marvin married Naomi Erickson in Westbrook, MN. They made their home on the family farm until their retirement and then moved into Westbrook. Marvin and his wife became residents of Valley View Manor in Lamberton, MN in 2005. Marvin loved watching football and baseball, going to the stock car races in Slayton, MN, listening to country music and singing, and most of all spending time with his grand children and other family. Marvin died on March 4, 2008 at the Valley View Manor in Lamberton, MN surrounded by his family. Marvin is survived by his three children, Bonnie (Doug) Kirchner of Walnut Grove, MN, Bruce (Debra) Berg of Storden, MN and Brian (Jeanne) Berg of Westbrook, MN; six grand children, Bradley (Danielle) Berg, Bridget Huber, Brady Berg, Stuart (Sarah, fiancé) Kirchner, Ryan Kirchner and Anne Berg; five great grand children; one sister, Delories Amundson of Aurora, CO; nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents, Lawrence and Hannah Berg, daughter, Barbara Berg, brother, Vernon Berg, and great grandson, Joshua Berg preceded him in death.
