Marvin Robert Dugas was born on March 10, 1916, in Johnson, MN, to Charles and Cecelia Dugas. He went to school in Marshall and Clarkfield. After he left school, he entered the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC). He worked in the Cass Lake area from 1931 â 1935. He also worked for the WPA in the 1930s. He met and married Eliza âPatâ Robinson in 1936. Marvin worked for the Charles H. Lutz Auto Dealership from 1940 until they closed. Marvin started as a mechanic, then moved to the parts room and finally worked in sales. For the last two years of his career, Marvin worked for Anton Chevrolet. In 1957, he got his private pilot license and his own airplane. He flew until 1965. Marvin and Pat divorced in 1961. Marvin liked working with his hands and he enjoyed people. He loved hunting back in the 1940s and enjoyed fishing with his son, Bob. During the flood of â57, Marvin used his âAlexâ boat to help many people. In 1995, Marvin moved to Hill Street Place. He lived there until moving to the Colonial Manor of Balaton in 2012. In February, 2013, he moved to the Good Samaritan Society in Windom.
Marvin died on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home in Windom.
He is survived by his son, Robert M. Dugas, of Worthington, daughter Luanna M. Craven of Deerwood, MD, granddaughter Cynthia Craven of Deerwood, MD. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Joseph, Donald and Harold.
