Mary Lynn (Gilbert) Byrne passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at her home in Marshall, after a long battle with Inclusion Body Myositis.

Mary was born in St. Paul, MN, on October 21, 1957, to Louis Peter and Ann Marie (Frattalone) Gilbert. She went to St. Jerome’s School, then Hill Murray High School, where she graduated in 1976. Mary then attended the College of St. Benedict and graduated in 1980 with a Psychology degree. While at St. Ben’s, she met her husband Tim Byrne. They were married on October 10, 1981, at St. John the Baptist Church in Little Canada, MN.

Mary’s passion was her children. She loved to make and decorate special cakes for their birthdays and make their Halloween costumes. She also loved to watch them in all their activities. Later she started scrapbooking to make memory albums.

Mary is survived by her husband Timothy, son Kyle (and Tiffany) Byrne, Tim (and Holly) Byrne, Ann (and Phil) (Byrne) Hennen; nine grandchildren Ethan Lindner, Trigg Hora-Byrne, MaKenna Byrne, Lily Byrne, Ella Byrne, Theodore Byrne, Adrian Hennen, Zachary Hennen, and Sean Hennen, brother Ken Bengtson (and Chuck Gilman.) She was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Ann Gilbert, her in-laws Edward and Shirley (Andrews) Byrne, and her brother Richard (Jeanne) Gilbert.
