The funeral service for Mary Enderson, 93, of Tracy, will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2023, at the Tracy Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Tracy Community Cemetery.
Mary Lou (Reineking) Enderson was born on January 15, 1930, to William and Helen (Lux) Reineking at Winnebago, MN. She died December 2, 2023, at Prairie View Senior Living in Tracy, MN.
Mary grew up on a farm, and attended school in Huntley, MN, graduating from high school as Valedictorian in 1948. After graduation, Mary went to work at Federated Mutual Ins. in Owatonna, where she met a handsome Navy veteran named Howard Enderson. On June 19, 1949, she and Howard were united in marriage at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Winnebago, MN. They lived in Windom and Worthington before moving to Tracy in 1955. While supporting Howard with his Enderson Clothing business, she raised their 6 children and was involved in the community. At Tracy Lutheran Church, Mary taught Sunday School and VBS, was active in altar care and communion preparation, as well as the women’s groups. Among the organizations she volunteered with are the Tracy Hospital Auxiliary, Campfire Girls, Tracy Country Club, Mrs. Jaycees, and Meals on Wheels. She also worked at the Fabric Center during the time she and Howard owned it.
Mary was an avid gardener, excellent cook and baker, as well as an extraordinary seamstress and knitter. She and Howard enjoyed road trips, golf, dancing, and playing cards.
Mary is survived by 5 children: Amy (Todd) Johnson of Plymouth, Kurt Enderson of Tracy, Neil Enderson of Tyler, Elen (Jon) Vanderhoof of Lompoc, CA, and Lyle (Pat) Enderson of Anoka, 9 grandchildren: Jackie Giesen, Jill Enderson, Alan (Ashley) Enderson, Jeffrey Vanderhoof, Eric Johnson, Anne (Sam) Smith, Leah (Eric) Rabe, Evan Enderson, and Laura Enderson, and 7 great-grandchildren: Jaydon, Brooklyn, Trevor, Keaton, Hudson, Arthur, and Huxley.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Howard in 2013, son Mark in 2017, granddaughter Sarah in 1992, great-granddaughter Justine in 2001, as well as her parents, and brothers William, Jerry, and Jack Reineking.
Memorials are preferred to the Tracy Lutheran Church, Tracy Area Medical Foundation, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
