Mary Jane Frahm was born on August 28, 1956, in Marshall, to Hugo and Betty (Miller) Frahm. She attended Holy Redeemer Grade School in Marshall and graduated from the Lynd High School in 1974. Mary then studied business and accounting at the Vocational Technical School in Brainerd. She lived and worked in Seattle and Minneapolis for a time before moving to Spearfish, SD, in 1974, where she owned her own business. Mary loved living in Spearfish where she loved her pets and enjoyed sight-seeing in the area. She also enjoyed knitting, reading and spending time with her friends and family. Mary had a green thumb and loved working with her flowers and vegetable gardening. She always looked forward to attending the annual family campouts. Mary was always interested in helping people in need. She even learned sign language to better communicate with her good friend, Lee. Mary died on Saturday, February 21, 2009, at the Sturgis Hospital in Sturgis, SD, surrounded by family, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She is survived by her parents, Hugo and Betty Frahm of Marshall, sister Linda Stoddard of Marshall, niece Brenda (and Wade) Martinson and their daughter, Macy, niece Shari (and Todd) Johnson and their children, Stella and Teddy, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her very special friend, Miles.
