Michael Maynard Minnick

Michael Maynard Minnick was born on March 22, 1956, in Marshall, to Maynard and Jean (Harmes) Minnick. He grew up in Marshall and graduated from Marshall High School. Mike enlisted and served in the U.S. Marines from 1973 – 1976. After his honorable discharge, he lived in California for a few years before returning to Marshall in 1982. He worked several jobs in Marshall including painting, carpentry, flooring and bartending. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mike was fond of spending time with friends and family, especially his grandson. Mike died unexpectedly at his home in Marshall on Tuesday, October 7, 2014. He is survived by his daughters Michelle Holliday of Marshall and Megan Minnick of Buffalo, MN, grandchildren Tyler Holliday, Landon Fein, Destiny Harris, Sakara Minnick, Donovan Minnick and Brea Holliday, parents Maynard and Jean Minnick of Monticello, siblings Steve Minnick of Marshall, Sue Minnick of Brooklyn Park, Mark (and Deidre) Minnick of Monticello, nephews Shayne and Jeremy Minnick, niece Andrea Lien, great-nephews Gavin and Alex Lien and his beloved dog, Coco.
