Michael Tholen

Michael James Tholen was born on December 29, 1954, in Marshall, to Clarence and Mary (Meulebroeck) Tholen. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Minneota High School in 1973. He then attended the Granite Falls Vocational Technical School where he obtained a degree in auto body repair. He then began working with his brother Mark, at the auto body repair shop in Taunton. For the last several years, he has been working for Countryside Auto in Minneota. Mike had a lifelong passion for automobiles. He was very methodical about taking care of his home and grounds. He was a very private person, yet had a heart for his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He was very intelligent and had a keen sense of humor. Michael died unexpectedly at his residence in rural Minneota on Tuesday, January 27, 2015. He is survived by his siblings John “Jack” Tholen of Minneota, Mark (and Linda) Tholen of Ft. Collins, CO, Dan (and Suzanne) Tholen of Baxter, MN, Susan (and Tom) Thooft of Cyrus, Anita (and Roger) Cauwels of Marshall, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous aunts and uncles.
