Michele Herigon

Michele Ann (Flanagan) Herigon was born on September 5, 1950, in Mitchell, SD, to Raymond and Alta (Wibben) Flanagan. She grew up in Alexandria and Spencer, SD, and graduated from Spencer SD. Shelly then attended Vocational Technical School in Granite Falls. On July 12, 1969, she was united in marriage to Richard Herigon. The couple made their home and raised their family in Marshall. Shelly enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, and camping with the Rawhide Rover RV Club. She enjoyed crafts including sewing, quilting and baking. Shelly was most passionate about spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed teaching them how to sew, bake and other activities. Shelly died on Sunday, August 31, 2008, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD, after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Richard, of Marshall, sons Bradley (and Ronda) of Rural Cottonwood, Bret (and Amy) of Minneota, Steven (and Amber) of Cottonwood, grandchildren Stetson, Dayton and Bailey of Cottonwood, Autum and Natalie of Minneota, Felica, Gracie and Caine of Cottonwood, sister Rae (and Don) Sieverding and brother Bill Flanagan. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Patrick.
