Mildred Pauline (Ahles) Shogren was born on January 31, 1919, in St. Cloud, MN, to Paul and Mary (Bruener) Ahles. She grew up in St. Cloud and graduated from St. Cloud High School. Mildred attended St. Benâs University and completed her teacherâs training at St. Cloud State University. She taught high school English in Baudette, MN. In 1943, she was united in marriage to C. Emmett Shogren at St. Maryâs Cathedral in St. Cloud. After her marriage, Mildred was a full time homemaker. In the early 1950s, the family moved to St. Paul. They belonged to House of Hope Presbyterian Church in St. Paul and Mildred belonged to the American Association of University Women. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, traveling and camping, but Mildred was most passionate about her family. In 2005, she moved to Boulder Estates in Marshall. Mildred died on Monday, May 02, 2011, at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center in Marshall.
She is survived by her daughters Susan (and John) Stein of St. Paul, Sarah Archbold of Marshall, five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one sister Mary Adams of Weslaco, TX, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband C. Emmett, brother Theodore and sister Louise.
