Muriel Beebout age 88 of Milroy, MN died Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall, MN. Services will 2:00 PM Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Our Saviorâs Lutheran Church in Milroy, MN. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy, MN, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM and continuing one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday. Interment will be at Our Saviorâs Lutheran Cemetery in Milroy. The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy is handling the arrangements.
Muriel Mae Beebout was born April 16, 1922 to John and Mae (Simmons) Brakke on a farm in West Line Township, two miles east of Milroy, MN, in Redwood County. She was baptized and confirmed in her home church of Our Saviorâs Lutheran Church in Milroy and attended Milroy Public Schools.
On July 3, 1940 Muriel married Cleve Beebout in Rock Rapids, IA and they made their home on a farm southwest of Milroy. In 1945 they bought a farm east of Milroy and continued to farm there until her husbandâs death in 2002.
Muriel was a housewife and mother of seven children, who not only orchestrated incredible meals for large groups three times a day, but ask anyone and the Beebout children were always âshined like new penniesâ. She was a member of Our Saviorâs Lutheran Church in Milroy her entire life, where she was involved in Circle and many other church activities. Muriel was also an amazing gardener. She not only grew it, but canned it and cooked it. She will be remembered by everyone as an excellent cook and as a farm wife, she not only kept track of the farm finances, she kept a weather journal faithfully for over 50 years.
In June of 2010 Muriel became a resident of Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall, MN, where she died Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the age of 88.
Muriel is survived by her loving family; two daughters, Patricia (Gary) Stewerwald of Georgetown, TX, and Peggy (Larry) Rolland of Milroy, MN; two sons, Lynn (Deb) Beebout and Ronald (Gwen) Beebout, both of Milroy, MN; one daughter-in-law, Marianne Beebout of Gary, SD; two son-in-laws, James Gregor of Roseville, MN and Dale Snyder of Mankato, MN; fifteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Her husband, Cleve, one son, Doug, two daughters, Jackie Gregor and Jolene Snyder, her grandson Brooks and daughter-in- law, Gwen, two sisters, and three brothers preceded her in death.
