A private family service will take place at a later date Myron “Bud” Kack, 81, of Minneota.
Myron William “Bud” Kack was born on January 15, 1942, in St. Leo, MN, to Leo and Christine (Kockelman) Kack. When he was five, he moved with his family to Canby where he attended school and graduated in 1960. Bud enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Lexington in Pensacola, FL. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Canby. On April 20, 1963, he was united in marriage to Julie Maertens at Sts Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Taunton. To this union were born children Shirley, Jeff and Jeremy. Bud worked as a musician in a variety of local bands and recorded the album “Chocolate Waters” in 1972. The family moved to Clinton, MN, in the early 1970s where Bud worked as a truck driver for Big Stone cheese. In the early 1990s they returned to Minneota and Bud drove truck for a variety of local companies, retiring in 2004.
Bud loved music and enjoyed reading. He was most fond of time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bud died at his home in Minneota under hospice care and surrounded by family on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. He is survived by his wife, Julie, of Minneota, children Shirley (Mitch) Tofte of Kerkhoven, MN, Jeff Kack (Julie Taber) of Henrietta, OK, Jeremy Kack of Marshall; grandchildren Jordan, Brady, Alaysia and Keiser; step-grandchild Christina; four great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Bonnie Dwyer and Marlys Wolverton.
