Nicole Irene Kontz Baker

A private memorial service for Nicole Irene (Kontz) Baker, age 24, of Fort Benning, GA, will be held at Balaton United Methodist Church in Balaton, MN. Nicole was born in Orem, UT, on February 17, 1997, to Michael and Kristi (Van Duyn) Kontz. The family moved to Maplewood, MN, when she was two, where she grew up and graduated from Roseville Area High School. Nicole was kindhearted and a free spirit. She had a fondness for animals and enjoyed being outdoors. She enjoyed camping, kayaking, swimming, hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. In January 2020, Nicole was united in marriage to Cody Baker. The couple were living in Fort Benning, GA, with their two dogs Duck and Theo. Nicole died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 26, 2021. She will forever hold a special place in the lives of people she met. Nicole is survived by her husband Cody Baker of Fort Benning, GA, parents Michael and Kristi Kontz and brother Nathanial Kontz, all of Balaton, and grandmother Linda Kontz of Sioux Falls, SD. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Thomas Kontz and great-grandmother Delores Kindt.
