Nola Ann (Carruth) Caron-Ferguson was born on September 2, 1931, the youngest of three children born to Delmar and Carmella (Gallagher) Carruth in Danvers, MN. Nola graduated from Shakopee High School. On September 26, 1953 Nola married Louie Caron in Shakopee. They lived in Marshall after marrying where they raised their three children and farmed south of Marshall until Louieâs death in 1974. In 1983, Nola married Ted Ferguson. They resided in Woodbridge, VA for their working careers and upon retirement moved back to Marshall to be closer to Nolaâs family. Nola enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing cards, and traveling. She enjoyed volunteering at Holy Redeemer Church and working at the gift shop at the Avera Hospital.
Nola is survived by her children, Cindy Esping, Michael (Donna) Caron, Cathy (Kelly) Novotny; step-sons, Scott (Cathy) Ferguson Sr. , and Kirkwood Ferguson; grandchildren, Mike (Christine) Esping, Jacob (Melissa) Caron, Whitney (Jerome) Smith, Tasha Novotny and her husband, Chris Kulzer, Marissa Novotny, Scott Ferguson Jr. and Matthew Ferguson; 6 great-grandchildren; 1great-great grandchild; sister, Marion Brocher; and many other loving family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Louie Caron and Ted Ferguson; parents, Delmar and Carmella Carruth; and sister, Lois Lindquist.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Prairie Home Hospice. A special thanks to the staff at Regions Hospital and the Avera Hospital of Marshall for the wonderful care given to Nola.
