Odilo Nick Van Deelen

Odilo Nick Van Deelen was born on March 7, 1931, in Burton Township, Yellow Medicine County, to John and Rose (Homan) Van Deelen. He grew up on the family farm and attended country school. In 1954, Odilo was united in marriage to Lona Amundson in Montevideo. The couple farmed their whole lives north of Minneota. They had livestock, milked cows and fed pigs. Odilo was passionate about farming and was an animal lover. He had many pets including several dogs and cats. Odilo died on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at the Minneota Manor in Minneota. He is survived by his wife, Lona, of Minneota, granddaughter Tessa (and Randall) Kissick of Oklahoma City, OK, good friends Dennis and Linda Broughton and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Rosemary Josephson, and sister Vivian Senden.
