Ollie Evelyn Maronde Gagnon

d. July 12, 2013

Olivene (Maronde) Gagnon was born January 11, 1932 to Harold and Evelyn (Meron) Maronde in Marshall. She spent her entire life in Marshall, until she met and married Emmett Gagnon May 20, 1953. Together the couple moved to California while Emmett served in the military before returning to Cottonwood. The couple eventually moved to Marshall where they had two children, Kim and PooBear. After Emmett’s death in June of 1965, Olivene began to work as a telephone operator. After some time, she began to work with Bisbee plumbing and heating before working as a book keeper for more than 30 years at Thrifty White Drug Store. Olivene spent many hours tending her gardens, taking care of plants, camping and watching birds. She used her artistic gifts painting and sewing many works of art. She was a founding member of the Eagles Club and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Her greatest joy was being a loving and nurturing mother to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Olivene E. Gagnon died at the Minneota Manor Nursing Home, July 12, 2013 with her children by her side. She will be missed by her daughter Kim Gagnon of Marshall; son, PooBear “Ricky” (Cathy Doom) Gagnon of Marshall; grandchildren, Brittany Buysse (special friend, Jeremy Luckhardt) of Balaton and Brandon Buysse (fiancée, Sheena Lamote) of Rochester; five great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law Julie (Perry) Schumacher Sharlene Gagnon of IL, brother-in-law, George Gagnon of IL. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Emmett; brothers, Kenneth Maronde and Marvin Maronde; sister-in-law, Ruby Gagnon; brothers-in-law Fran Gagnon and Stanley Gagnon; parents-in-law, George and Theresa Gagnon.
