Mass of Christian Burial for Phillip “Phil” Nuy, 81, of Marshall, formerly of Minneota, will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota.  Visitation will be Tuesday, June 13, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Minneota.  Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. at the remembrance center.  Interment will follow the service at St. Edward Catholic Cemetery in Minneota.

Phillip Henry Nuy was born on July 15, 1941, in Marshall, to Henry and Annie (Van Damme) Nuy.  He grew up in the Minneota area and graduated from Minneota High School in 1959.  On February 19, 1966, he was united in marriage to Donna Hoseck.  The couple made their home and raised their family in Minneota.  Phil did construction work for local companies including Al Bogaard, Fagen, Althiede Construction and UBC.  He enjoyed woodworking and gardening.  In September, 2022, Phil moved to Avera Morningside Heights Care Center due to health reasons.

Phillip died on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall.  He is survived by his wife Donna of Marshall; sons Greg (Cindy) Nuy of Canby and Richard Nuy (Gloria) of Ivanhoe; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one on the way; siblings Kathy (Don) Collins of Willmar, Tom Nuy of Marshall, Mike (Shannon) Nuy of Mankato and Mary Lou (John) Wilste of Riverdale, ND; sister-in-law Sandy Nuy; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Annie Nuy, brother John Nuy, nephew Dean Collins and sister-in-law Val Nuy.
