Rachel was born on May 31, 1921, in Lyon County to George and Rosa (Pommier) Caron. She grew up in rural Green Valley and attended school in Marshall and Cottonwood. Rachel was baptized and confirmed at St. Clotilde Catholic Church. On June 19, 1946, she was united in marriage to Frank Grant âJoeâ Minnehan. The couple farmed and raised their family near Cottonwood. Joe died in 1979. In 1982, Rachel moved to Marshall. She was united in marriage to Wendlin âScottâ Nosbush in 1988. Rachel was a faithful member of St. Clotilde Catholic Church. She belonged to the CCW and was a Catechism Teacher. She was also a 4-H leader and enjoyed playing cards, square dancing and gardening. Rachel was most passionate about spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Rachel died on Friday, October 12, 2012, at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall. She is survived by her sons William (and Marsha) Minnehan of Randolph, MN, Clayton (and Barbara) Minnehan of Slayton, Michael Minnehan of Mankato, Richard Minnehan of Marshall, step-children Connie (and Ralph) Pearson of Grove City, MN, Pat (and Roger) Buboltz of Redwood Falls, Dave (and Rhonda) Nosbush of Franklin, Brad (and Sara) Nosbush of Fairfax, Leroy Nosbush of Fairfax, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren and her sister Sister M. Severina. She was preceded in death by her husbands; Joe Minnehan and Scott Nosbush, an infant daughter, siblings Sister Donata Caron, Victor Caron, Helen Miller, Ed Caron, Bernadette Dvorak, Irma Dvorak, Ruth Stiensen and William Caron.
