Raymond Lawrence Bottelberghe was born on March 27, 1929, in Limestone Township, Lincoln County, to Hector and Estella (DeCock) Bottelberghe. He grew up and attended country school and later St. Edward Catholic School. He was baptized, received first communion and confirmed at St. Edward Catholic Church. On June 9, 1952, he was united in marriage to Bertha Marie (Dalle) at St. Edward Catholic Church. The couple made their home in Minneota and Raymond worked as a meat cutter at Finneganâs Super Value for 52 years. He enjoyed woodcutting, especially toys. His wooden trains have been sent to people all over the world. He was an ambulance driver, an altar server for more than 20 years, was a leader of 4-H and Boy Scouts, was active at the Minneota Senior Center, loved baseball and supported the AFS Program.
Raymond died on Friday, July 4, 2014, at the Prairie Home Hospice House in Marshall, MN. He is survived by his wife, Bertha, children Jerome (and Rita) of Minneota, Joseph (and Linda) of Dayton, MN, James (and Julie) of West Union, MN, Barb (and Garry) Lipinski of Marshall, Becky (and David) Holzheimer of Montevideo, 14 grandchildren; Ted Bottelberghe, Jake Bottelberghe, Marc (and Chelsea) Bottelberghe, Eric Bottelberghe, Jenna (and Vlad) Dyba, Katie (and Pat) Ferguson, Heidi (and Peter) Fiskness, Kirk Bottelberghe, Lee Bottelberghe, Wendy (and Jacob Bunge) Van Keulen, Tanya (and Peter) Backstrom, Chad (and Misbah) Van Keulen, Carrie Viessman and Darin Holzheimer, 12 great-grandchildren, siblings Beatrice (and John) Vlaminck of Grass Valley, CA, Delores Vlaminck of Ivanhoe, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, son John Robert, grandsons Jamie Bottelberghe and Ryan and Brian Holzheimer, brother Herman Bottelberghe and sister Lorraine Vlaminck.
