Richard John Addison was born on January 21, 1940, in Marshall, to Harry Wood Addison II and Helen Katherine (Horstman) Addison. He grew up in Marshall and graduated from Marshall High School. After attending school at Mankato State University and the University of Minnesota, he returned to Marshall where he worked at the family hardware store. He was married to Jeannette Thomsen of Canby. Dick enjoyed reading and wildlife, especially birds. He read the Bible diligently and recently converted to Catholicism. He died on Monday, June 27, 2011, at the Prairie Home Hospice House in Marshall after a lengthy battle with lung cancer.
He is survived by his son Thomas (and Angela) of Maple Grove, granddaughters Grace and Gretchen, brother Jeff (and Elaine) Addison of Lakeville, nephew Kyle and niece Kim. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Harry Wood Addison III.
