Mass of Christian Burial for Richard âRichâ Herigon, 72, of Marshall, will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 3, 2021, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. A livestream and recording of the service will be available at www.holy-redeemer.com. A public, walk-through visitation will take place Sunday at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. on Monday at the Remembrance Center. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall. Mask and social distancing requirements will be observed at all indoor services.
Richard âRichâ Anton Herigon was born on December 24, 1948, in Marshall, to Dalen and Patricia âPatâ (Graffunder) Herigon. He grew up on farms around the Marshall area and graduated from Marshall High School. After graduation, Rich began working for the City of Marshall as a mechanic. He worked for the City his entire career, eventually working his way up to street superintendent. On July 12, 1969, Rich was united in marriage to Michele Flanagan. The couple lived and raised their three sons in Marshall.
Rich enjoyed being outdoors, whether it be hunting, trapping, fishing, or camping. In his later years, he particularly enjoyed fishing with two close friends. In his free time, he could be found having a social hour with his buddies at the Taunton West End Bar. Rich spent many winters staying with his brother in Texas. Rich also enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports.
Rich died unexpectedly on April 27, 2021. He is survived by his sons Brad (Ronda) of Cottonwood and Steve (Amber) of Cottonwood; daughter-in-law Amy of Minneota; grandchildren Stetson (Lindsay), Dayton (Kaia), Bailey, Autum (Austin), Natalie (Kyle), Felica, Gracie, and Caine; great-grandchildren Makenna and Rhet; siblings Diann Brown, Gary (Mary), Mike (Wendy), and Jolene (Daryl) Tople; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Michele, son Bret, and brother-in-law Mike Lanoue.
