Richard James St. Aubin was born on February 28, 1929, in Marshall, to John and Elizabeth (Dandurand) St. Aubin. He grew up on the family farm and attended country school. Richard was drafted and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Marshall. After some courting, he was united in marriage to Margaret Lamote on September 15, 1955, at St. Eloi Catholic Church. The couple lived in rural Marshall, Green Valley, and Ghent before settling on a farm South of Marshall. In addition to farming Richard worked for the Hatchery in Marshall. In 1992, the couple moved to Russell. Richard enjoyed tinkering in his shop or back yard. He also enjoyed helping at his son’s auto body shop. He was quite talented and could make or fix just about anything. Richard was a bit of a prankster and loved a good joke, especially if he got a rise out of Margaret. He and his siblings had a great time and what one didn’t think of.. another would. He was very resilient as he worked through life’s ups and downs. Richard enjoyed fishing, playing Rolle Bolle and he was very fond of time spent with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
