Robert Lynn Crouse was born on December 6, 1941, in Clarion, IA, to Duane and Neva (Christian) Crouse. As a child, Bob moved with his family to Fort Dodge, IA, for a time, then to Silver Creek, MN, where he graduated from Annandale High School. He was baptized into the Lutheran faith and confirmed in Silver Creek. On April 28, 1962, he was united in marriage to Barbara Olson in Annandale.. Bob worked as a mechanic in different locations until moving to Cottonwood, MN, where the family has made their home since March, 1978. Bob was the owner/operator of Yamaha of Marshall until the mid-1980s. He continued to work as a mechanic and concluded his career setting up Harley Davidson motorcycles for Delano Sports Center. Later in his life, Bob took up woodworking as a hobby; he was meticulous in his work and made many pieces of furniture for his children and his own home. He was proud of his grandchildren, and he enjoyed going to their sporting events, with baseball being his favorite. He liked to keep busy, whether he was working in the yard, lending a hand to friends or family, fiddling around on his laptop computer, or going to Dairy Queen to get an ice cream cone to share with his spoiled and beloved dog, Tilly. Bob suffered cardiac arrest on Wednesday, April 15, and died on Saturday, April 18 at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD, with his family at his side.
He is survived by his wife, Barb, of Cottonwood; daughter Carol (and Greg) Bossuyt of Cottonwood, their children Jared, Parry and Jory; son Curt (and Karen) Crouse of Rosemount, their children Carleen, Olivia and Mallory; daughter Cathie Crouse Bueltel (and Dan Bueltel) of Minneota, their children Dylan and Quinn Fenger, T.J., Nathan and Alec Bueltel; daughter Carin (and Mark) Engler of Duluth, their children Mason and Madison; and brother Bill (and Shirley) Crouse of Rockwell City, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents.
