Robert Widney

Robert John Windey was born on October 19, 1939, in Yellow Medicine County, MN, to Art and Frances (Differding) Windey. He attended country grade school and graduated from Minneota High School. On June 12, 1965, Robert was united in marriage to Marilyn Culbertson at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota. He worked for MGT Co-0p for over 42 years. In 2002, he began working as a custodian for the Schwan Food Company. Robert enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a longtime member of the Minneota Fire Department. Robert died on Saturday, March 17, 2007, at the Avera Heart Hospital of South Dakota in Sioux Falls, SD, due to complications from heart failure. He is survived by his wife Marilyn of Minneota, children Brian (Jane) Windey of Marshall, Debbie (Kevin) Wolff of Tavares, FL, Craig (Taleania) Windey of Montrose, CO, five grandchildren, siblings Louise Kockelman of Marshall, Glen (Gin) Windey of Marshall, Mervin (Janet) Windey of Marshall, Marian (Dan) Drumm of Yuba City, CA, Sue Windey of Redwood Falls, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
