Ronald John Nelson

Ronald John Nelson was born on March 6, 1947, in Marshall, to Leonard and Mary (Lindner) Nelson. He grew up in Marshall and graduated from Marshall High School. After his schooling, Ron enlisted and served in the U.S. National Guard. He took a job at Gesme Printing which began a more than 40 year career in the printing business. On July 17, 1970, he was united in marriage to Pat Middleton. To this union were born two sons: Michael and Marc. Ron was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed watching and feeding his birds and enjoyed all of his time spent with his cats. He was also a diehard Minnesota Sports Fan. Ron died unexpectedly on Friday, July 1, 2016, at his residence in Marshall. He is survived by sons Michael Nelson of Rapid City, SD, and Marc Nelson of Garvin, grandchildren Leah, Emily, Jack and Molly, siblings Kathy Felcyn of Marshall, Allan (and Kathie) Nelson of Chanhassen, Linda (and Tom) Klug of Flemington, NJ, Julie (and Jim) Stackhouse of Ft. Collins Colorado, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, George.
