A celebration for the life of Ronald “Ron” Langin, 79, of Marshall, will take place from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. with sharing of memories at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
Ronald James “Ron” Langin was born on January 23, 1942, in Marhsall, MN, to James and Lyla (Bamford) Langin. He grew up in Marshall and graduated from Marshall High School. On May 5, 1963, he was united in marriage to Nadine Schlenker. Ron worked for Appleton Silo Company for a time before beginning his career as a dedicated semi driver, which he truly enjoyed. He drove for Johnson Leasing, Koch Enterprises and Kane Transport until his reluctant retirement in 2020 due to health issues. Ron was an avid gun enthusiast who enjoyed spending time and visiting friends at local gun shows. He was also an outdoorsman and especially cherished his many years hunting up north with his son and lifelong group of friends. Ron took great pride in his 1951 Mercury and enjoyed taking weekend cruises with Nadine in the summertime. He was known for his sly smile, quick wit and willingness to share a good story. He was hard-working, dedicated and respected as an employee, a friend and most importantly a family man.
Ron passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, Nadine Langin of Marshall, son Mike (and Heidi) Langin of Marshall, son-in-law Brad Facile of Slayton, grandchildren Darrick Allpress, McKayla Allpress, Bailey Langin, Emily (and Cody) Kontz and Matthew Facile; great-grandson Elliot Hanson (and one great-grandson on the way), sister Suzanne Schreiner of Crossville, TN, in-laws, Jerry Schlenker of Balaton, Dan Schlenker of Lakewood, CO, Bonnie (and Steve) Remmele of Tomah WI, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law and daughter Leah Facile.
