Rosella H. Hoffrogge age 91 of Tracy, MN died Thursday, April 25, 2013 at the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at the Tracy Lutheran Church in Tracy. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 PM Monday, April 29, 2013 at the Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy, with a prayer service at 6:30 PM and continuing one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be in the Tracy City Cemetery, with a luncheon served in the church social hall immediately following the burial. The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy is handling the arrangements.
Rosella Helen Hoffrogge was born May 28, 1921 to Henry and Flossie (Heindselman)* Westie on a farm in Redwood County, near Lucan, MN. She was baptized at home on February 10, 1924 and confirmed on July 12, 1936 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lucan. Rosella attended Country School District #59 and then graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1940.
On September 25, 1942 Rosella married Arthur Hoffrogge at the Lutheran parsonage in Lamberton, MN and they made their home on Artâs parents farm near Revere, MN. They moved to a farm north of Walnut Grove for a short time and in 1956 they purchased a farm near Tracy, MN. In 2009 Rosella moved into a home in Slayton, MN, where she remained until her death.
She was a member of the Tracy Lutheran Church and was active in the church Ladies Aid, Circle and crocheted sweaters for the childrenâs kits for Lutheran World Relief. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, crocheting, and playing cards, but especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends.
On Thursday, April 25, 2013 Rosella died at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 91.
Rosella is survived by her three daughters, Alice (David) Schreier of Currie, MN, Charlotte (Tom) Illg of New Prague, MN, and Sharon (Paul) Engberg of Miami, FL; nine grandchildren, Todd, Kevin, Troy, and Chad Schreier, Jerome and Sarah Illg, Mark and Scott Engberg, and Brenda Smith; six great grandchildren, Jessica, Ryanna, Brylei, and Isabela Schreier, Collin and Kayla Smith; two great-great grandchildren, Haleigh Schreier and Cheyanne Morris; nieces, nephews and friends.
Her husband, Art Hoffrogge, infant grandson, Brian Schreier, great grandson, Tyler Schreier, her parents and one infant brother, John Westie preceded her in death.
