Rosella Truedson, formerly of Walnut Grove, MN, age 79, died Monday, August 25, 2008 at the Hospice House of Marshall, MN. A memorial service will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, September 6, 2008 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Walnut Grove. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday. Interment will be at the Walnut Grove City Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the church. The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy is handling the arrangements.
Rosella Romona Truedson was born January 15, 1929 to August and Ellen (Dahlgren) Johnson on a farm in Johnsonville Township, Redwood County, MN. She was baptized February 19, 1929 and later confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Walnut Grove, MN. She attended Country School District # 19 and then Walnut Grove High School . After graduation she attended Mankato Commercial College and received her 2 year degree as a legal secretary. She worked as a secretary for several insurance offices in the metro area.
On September 12, 1959 Rosella married Warner Truedson in Minneapolis, MN. They made their home in Tracy, MN for a couple years and before moving to Walnut Grove. In 1970 they moved onto the Truedson home farm where they remained until 1999 when they retired into Tracy. Over the years Rosella was a housewife and mother and later worked as a home health aide for Redwood County for approximately 10 years. In 2002 Rosella moved into an apartment in Marshall, MN.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Walnut Grove her whole life where she was active in numerous womenâsâ groups. Rosella enjoyed flowers and plants, painting, sculpting , wood carving and was an avid reader. In the past she also enjoyed raising and showing horses and trail riding.
On July 2, 2008 Rosella became a resident of the Hospice House in Marshall where she died Monday, August 25, 2008 at the age of 79.
Rosella is survived by her two sons, Scott (Lisa) Truedson of Marshall, MN and Wayne Truedson of Walnut Grove, MN; four granddaughters, Chelsea, Nicole, Kelly and Regan; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Her husband, Warner, her parents, four brothers, Elmer (Gertrude), Hubert, Harry (Beatrice), E. Robert, and one sister, Elvina (William) Kaufenberg preceded her in death.
