Sheng Kue Hang

Services for Sheng Hang, 75, of Garvin, will take place from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m. (midnight) on Saturday, June 17, 2023 and 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m. (midnight) on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Tracy.  Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 19, 2023, at Oakland Cemetery in St. Paul, MN.

Sheng Kue Hang, 75 passed away peacefully on May 11^th, 2023, at her home in Garvin, Minnesota.  Her funeral service will be held on Friday, June 17^th, 18^th at Horvath Funeral Home in Tracy, Minnesota followed by interment at Oakland Cemetery in Saint Paul, Minnesota. 

Sheng was born on May 27^th, 1947, in Phoukam, Laos to Nhia Ya Kue and Mee Yang. Sheng was married to her late husband, Chong Yer Hang who served in the Vietnam War.  After the war ended, Sheng, Chong Yer and their five children immigrated to the United States in 1978, making Providence, Rhode Island their home.  During their years in Providence, Sheng’s family grew, and she had four more children, she quickly grew accustomed to the American culture and began taking Adult English classes in 1985. Sheng was a quick learner and a go getter; she worked tirelessly as a housekeeper for many years and retired in 1990 to become a homemaker and care for her 9 children, as her husband worked as an ESL Assistant Teacher to provide for the family.  In 1994, Sheng relocated to Tracy, Minnesota and then to Garvin, Minnesota in 2021 with her son and daughter in law.

Sheng was a loving mother and grandmother, who loved nothing more than to spend time with her children and doted on her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She dedicated her entire life to caring for not only her children but her grandchildren and great grandchildren also. Her favorite past times were sewing, tending to her garden, and selling her produce at the local farmer’s market. Sheng definitely had a green thumb.  Sheng had a big heart and loved everyone around her tremendously. 

Sheng is survived by her son Txawj Peem Tsheej Haam (Kong Meng Hang), Daughter in Law, Adliza Xiong of Garvin, MN, daughters Kar Yang (Son in Law Tcheu Yen) of Cottage Grove, MN, Nancy Yang (Thomas Sydang Yang) of St. Paul, Minnesota, Tru Thao (Per Thao) of Cottage Grove, MN, Tang Leca Hang (Doua Xiong) of Madison WI, Manila Hang (Phou Moua) of Tracy, MN, Jao Parsons- Hang (Sabrina Parsons-Hang) of Ramsey, MN, 32 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Chong Yer Hang, son, Bruce Nao Blong (Bruce) Hang and daughter, Foua, Elizabeth Hang.

Sheng died on Thursday, May 11, 2023, under hospice care at her residence in Garvin, MN.
