The funeral service for Steve Allan, 65, of Marshall, will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at First Lutheran Church in Marshall. Visitation will be Monday, August 8, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church. Steve Douglas Allan was born on May 12, 1957, in Redwood Falls, MN, to Brainard "Bud" and LaVerne (Krengel) Allan. He grew up in Redwood Falls and graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1975. As a child he participated in 4-H and played basketball and football among other activities. Steve attended Southwest State University in Marshall. After college, he worked for Marshall Small Engine for 18 years, and, since 2008, he had been working for Midwest Ag.
Steve was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an excellent shot and fished in summer, winter, fresh water and salt water. He was also a Harley Davidson enthusiast. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and Harley collectibles. He was also a dog lover. Steve was most passionate about his family. He enjoyed his visits with daughter Melissa and his “little people;” grandchildren Waylon, Sawyer and Norah, and other relatives and friends.
Although Steve had a history of heart trouble, he recently completed a heart surgery and was recovering well when he died unexpectedly on Monday, August 1, 2022, at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center. Steve is survived by daughter Melissa (and Jeffery) Tisdale, grandchildren Waylon, Sawyer and Norah, of Hanahan, SC; siblings Vicki (and Roger) Tulibaski of Argyle, MN, Scott Allan of Redwood Falls, MN, and Todd Allan (and Cathy) of Perham, MN, special friend Denise Jeseritz of Marshall and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister in infancy.
