Susan E. Peterson age 88 of Westbrook, MN died on Friday, April 4, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Center in Westbrook, MN. A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, April 10, 2008 at the Almlie Funeral Home in Westbrook. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow the service at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Susan Elnora Peterson was born January 5, 1920 to Godfred and Alta (McDemott) Augesen in Chandler, MN. She grew up on a farm north of Chandler and attended country school. On December 19, 1940 Susan married Edward E. Peterson in Sibley, IA at the “Little Brown Church”. They made their home near Iona, MN, and then Slayton, MN before moving to Westbrook, MN. Susan was a housewife most of her life, but did work outside the home later in life for the Egg Plant in Westbrook and Campbell’s in Worthington, MN. She became a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook when they moved there and was baptized into the Lutheran faith on December 4, 1963. Sue enjoyed Bingo, movies, and getting together with her children and their families as often as she could. In March of 2008 Susan became a resident of the Westbrook Good Samaritan Center, where she died Friday, April 4, 2008 at the age of 88. Sue is survived by her three sons, Gene Peterson of Marshall, MN, Robert (Barbara) Peterson of Lamberton, MN and Tex (Lori) Peterson of Worthington, MN; three daughters, Patsy (Raymond) Clark of Westbrook, MN, Joan (Richard) Rolfus of Avoca, MN and Cindy Mahon of Westbrook, MN; seventeen grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren; three brothers, George Augesen of Worthington, MN, Vernon Augesen of Perris, CA and Hans Augesen of California; one sister, Mary Ann Dregroot of Gardena, CA; many nieces, nephews and friends. Her husband, Edward, her parents, two brothers, and one sister preceded her in death.
