Sue passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Our House of Murray County Hospice in Slayton, MN after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Born on April 20, 1951, in Clarkfield, MN, Sue was the daughter of Clarence and Leona Eischens. She spent her childhood on a farm near St. Leo, MN, and graduated from Minneota High School in 1969. On May 15, 1971, Sue married Dean Gorecki, the love of her life at the Church of St. Leo. Together, they raised three daughters in Minneota.
Sue dedicated her entire career to SW/WC Service Cooperatives, where she organized numerous conferences for students, teachers, and school administrators. She retired in 2014 and was able to spend more time with her grandchildren and enjoy the winters in Texas with Dean.
Sue loved going to their lake cabin and spent lots of time fishing, working on her flower garden, or watching the birds and squirrels. An avid Minnesota sports fan, she cheered (loudly at times) for the Twins and Vikings. She also enjoyed getting together with friends and playing Mahjong and Bridge.
Sue will be greatly missed and survived by her husband Dean and their daughters: Sara (Jeremy) Meyer of Springfield, MN, Kari (Ben) Buisker of Warner, SD, and Melissa (Jeremiah Maxfield) Gorecki of Warner, SD; grandchildren: Kendall, Allie, Lincoln, Keira, Madden, and Miles; sisters: Karen (Roger) Boerboom, Luella Eischens, Edna Gossen, and Faye (Larry) Haugen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leona and Clarence Eischens, brothers Francis and Curtis (Wendy) Eischens, and brother-in-law Bruce Gossen
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Our House of Murray County Hospice, 36 Park Drive, P.O. Box 86, Slayton, MN, 56172.
Sue will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
