Sylvia Lillian (Brosseau) Gee was born on September 25, 1918, in Marshall, to Harvey and Roseanna (Carrow) Brosseau. She grew up in Rural Marshall and graduated from Marshall High School. On October 28, 1941, she was united in marriage to Harold Gee at St. Clotilde Catholic Church in Green Valley. The couple farmed and raised their family in Stanley Township near Cottonwood MN. In 2004, Sylvia moved from the farm to Hill Street Place in Marshall. She volunteered for the Hospital Auxiliary and Thrift Shop and was active with the Red Hat Society, Council of Catholic Women, Catholic Daughters of America, Homemakers Club and with her children in 4-H. Sylvia enjoyed gardening, playing cards, sewing, quilting and golfing. She was most passionate about spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sylvia died on Sunday, November 23, 2014, at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center in Marshall.
She is survived by her first son Dan (and Rae Jean) Gee, their children Jennifer Hall (and Steven Schelnert), Julie (and Joe) Moran, Jessica (and Jon)Meendering, only daughter Kathie (and Tony) Van Uden, their children Shellie Van Uden, Sherrie (and Chris) Long, and Shannon (and Brian) Rook, second son Bob (and Paula) Gee, their children Bette (and Terry)Zinnel, Coreen (and Curt)Boerboom, Roxanne (and Todd)Boerboom, and Jason Gee, third son Larry Gee, 19 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, son Brian, parents Harvey and Roseanna Brosseau, sister Everal Wartner and brother Harvey Brosseau Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Avera Marshall Cancer Center or Prairie Home Hospice of Marshall.
